In this article I will be discussing 3 steps for saving money on auto insurance.
The steps that I outline will not be anything earth shattering, nor will they be anything new or unheard of.
They are, however, time tested and will work for you.
Just follow my 3 steps for saving money on auto insurance.
Step 1: Drive carefully! I know that this is common sense and to some may not be as fun as speeding through traffic trying to get to your destination faster than you did the day before, but it will help you and everyone else on the road.
Speeding will land you a ticket and will render the opposite effect we are after.
Not to mention that if you receive enough of them you will no longer have a license, thus saving money on auto insurance will no longer be a concern, but then it will be how to get back and forth! Same thing with getting in a wreck and being found at fault.
There will be points on your license and an increase in the cost of auto insurance.
Step 2: Choose an automobile that you can afford to insure.
I have known several people that when selecting a vehicle to purchase the only stipulations they had was whether the vehicle was "cool", and if they could afford the payments.
Affording the payments is one thing, affording the payments and insurance is another.
Unfortunately, insurance on a new Camaro will not be as affordable as insurance on a Pinto.
This is obvious but just proves the point.
Get auto insurance quotes on the perspective vehicle before buying.
Step 3: Shop around for insurance.
This is applicable if you are going to purchase a new vehicle, used vehicle, or already have an automobile that is insured.
Look around, it can't hurt and spending a little time can save money on auto insurance.
I like to use sites that offer comparative quotes to get a quick idea of the savings.
